Move Stuckness into Flow
I guide individuals toward expanded awareness, greater presence, and improved performance. The Alexander Technique is a learning process by which we recognize and “un-do” unconscious or unhelpful psychophysical patterns that interfere with our ability to move, breathe, and respond freely.
So many of us run on automatic, operating under the impression that automating responses makes getting through our days more efficient. Wouldn’t we all like one less thing to think about? Instead, we don’t see how this limits our choices and our ability to be in the present moment. We seek exercises and techniques to address fatigue, stress, or tight muscles with little attention paid to the causes of these issues, which lie in our habitual - often unconscious - reactions.
The Alexander Technique is a means for changing these reactions by expanding our awareness of habitual psychophysical patterns so we can reduce strain and achieve ease in living, breathing, moving, and thinking. Musicians use it to prevent repetitive stress injuries. Actors use it to increase stamina and access sustainability. Singers use it to free their voice and improve resonance. Everyone can use it to expand awareness and achieve ease in living.
